Stutman Law recently obtained a full recovery for its client arising from a significant fire at a restaurant in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. An intensive and prompt investigation conducted by Stutman Law’s New Loss Department immediately following the loss revealed that the restaurant had failed to properly maintain a pizza oven and related ductwork. Specifically, the restaurant had operated the pizza oven despite a missing panel associated with the oven and ductwork. The missing panel eventually allowed a cooking ember to escape, come into contact with combustible materials and cause the fire. As the insurer for the building owner, Stutman Law’s client paid over $330,000 for the property damage resulting from the incident. Stutman Law aggressively pursued the restaurant owner and ultimately recovered 100% of its client’s damages while avoiding the need for litigation.
