Stutman Law Recovers 93% of Client’s Damages Pre-Suit After California Fire Hydrant Failure

Stutman Law’s client paid approximately $160,000 for water damage to an insured’s home in Ontario, California after a nearby fire hydrant failed, permitting water to escape the hydrant uncontrolled.  The insured described hearing what sounded like an explosion when the severely corroded nuts and bolts securing the fire hydrant failed and water erupted.  The insured’s home was located at a lower elevation than the fire hydrant and was ultimately flooded with 500,000 gallons of water.  Stutman Law aggressively pursued several municipal entities for improperly maintaining the fire hydrant and, consequently, recovered $150,000, over 93% of our client’s damages, in a pre-suit settlement.
