A hotel guest reported water flowing from the ceiling in the third floor east wing of the property. The hotel investigated the incident and discovered burst pipes for a dry sprinkler system located in the attic of the property. An investigation of the sprinkler and alarm systems by Stutman Law’s expert team revealed the alarm system was not programmed properly and some portions of the alarm system were not connected. Stutman Law attorneys obtained the sprinkler and alarm company’s inspection reports which noted the alarm and sprinkler systems were tested and passed just one month prior to the loss. Suit was filed and Stutman Law attorneys confronted the sprinkler and alarm company representatives at their depositions with the results of Stutman Law’s investigation. The case was settled two weeks after the depositions for over $800,000.00.
