On August 17, 2020, twenty-one wildfires began in the Plumas National Forest and the Lassen National Forest, which included the Claremont Fire and Bear Fire along the canyon of the Middle Fork Feather River. This complex fire consumed over 318,930 acres of land before the fire was contained. Preliminary investigation indicates that each fire likely resulted from a lightning strike. However, investigation is ongoing. Stutman Law is monitoring the investigation status to determine if there is any potential for subrogation recovery.
