Patrick O’Malley

Patrick J. O’Malley has more than thirty years’ experience representing insurance companies and self-insured companies in subrogation claims. Prior to joining Stutman Law, Pat litigated at a leading regional subrogation firm where he gained valuable experience in State and Federal Courts. Pat has litigated hundreds of cases and focuses his practice on residential and commercial fires, natural gas and propane explosions, fire suppression system failures, as well as claims against public utilities and construction companies. Pat has also organized and coordinated several mass tort actions involving defective products, resulting in successful recoveries for his clients. Pat has extensive knowledge and experience on the failure of numerous consumer products including sump pumps, clothes dryers, plumbing products, and dehumidifiers.

Pat has presented at National Association of Subrogation Professional (NASP) conferences and has also provided guidance to clients through industry-focused seminars. Pat collaborates with clients to resolve claims and lawsuits through practical and strategic planning, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.

Pat is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Illinois, has been admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois, Northern District of Indiana and the Western District of New York, and has appeared in several other Federal District Courts throughout the United States. Pat has also successfully argued in numerous Ohio appellate courts.

Pat received his law degree from Cleveland State University College of Law (formerly Cleveland-Marshall College of Law) in 1995 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with Business Certificate from Quincy University in 1991.

Outside of the office, Pat enjoys spending time with his wife, Jodie, and their three children. You can usually find him doing something outdoors, whether it is hiking, fishing, cycling, golfing or most any outdoor activity.
