Jared L. Elster joined Stutman Law in 2011, and is a member of the firm’s Large Property Subrogation Department. Mr. Elster is based out of the New Jersey regional office and litigates property subrogation cases throughout the United States. Mr. Elster’s hands-on, aggressive investigation and litigation strategies have led to the recovery of settlements in excess of $90 million dollars on behalf of Stutman Law’s clients.
Mr. Elster has extensive experience investigating and litigating complex subrogation claims, including those involving product liability losses, natural gas and propane explosions, construction defects, spontaneous combustion fires, and suppression system failures, among other things.
Mr. Elster is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In addition, Mr. Elster has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in numerous state and federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Elster is also a certified mediator in the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Elster is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP), where he is a frequent speaker. Mr. Elster has also published a number of industry specific articles and e-books on a variety of subrogation topics. In 2023, 2024 and 2025, Mr. Elster was selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a Thomas Reuters™ service, a peer designation awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state.
