Fairview Wildfire

On September 5, 2022, a wildfire started near Bautista Road and Fairview Avenue in the unincorporated county area of Hemet, California and consumed over 28,000 acres of land, destroyed 7 structures and damaged 7 additional structures before it was contained. The fire spread south and west into the communities of Cactus Valley, South Hemet and Sage. The fire also spread south and east into the Bautista and Blackburn Canyons and the Red Mountain area on the southwest side of the San Jacinto District of the San Bernardino National Forest. Investigation is underway to determine if there is any potential for subrogation recovery from the local utility company, Southern California Edison.
